On June 3rd, 2012, Mr. Fang, NITA VP, team leader of the Sanwan Park Project presented the of Sanwan Park landscape to Secretary Xie Zhengyi, Mayor Zhu Minyang and leaders from government offices. Dr. Anthony T. Johnson, NITA Design Director, Dr. Melody Lu and Dr. Gordon He were present. Leaders praised highly over NITA’s design and approved the plan instantly.

The site of Yangzhou Sanwan Park sits on a site of 15 hectares with a planning area of over 70 hectares. NITA Design Group customized the design based on Yangzhou’s historical culture and characteristic of Sanwan, building the world’s first urban park to display the canal culture. NITA’s plan preserves the cooling tower and transforms into a lookout tower, saves spaces for sustainable, protective wetlands. The design also accommodates Chinese traditional characters like Chinese Origami and Guzheng. Sanwan Park will become a new icon of Yangzhou downtown, to display the rich history and modern scene of Yangzhou and push forward the city’s constructions.
